A downloadable devlog
Most recent devlog: (I will probably just write it better later)
Affinity Affinity oh my god why it is so hard to make a damn pdf
Currently, I'm working on a new adventure module for the 24XX system! It's a mystery adventure, though relatively straightforward by design. I really wanted to keep things simple and accessible. It's built in a way that lets you easily drop it into almost any sci-fi, cyberpunk, or modern setting.
The best part? The design is completely done and has already been playtested! Right now, I'm in the layout phase: writing everything down, waiting on some art, and working hard to make every page visually interesting. I really don't want this to be just another boring "black text on a white page" document. I want it to look cool.
I’ll be real for a second: everyone loves a book with great visual design. But my biggest pet peeve in TTRPG adventures right now is the lack of NPC art, specifically for VTT tokens.
I absolutely hate when a module gives you a named NPC with dialogue and backstory, but no face to show the players. If an NPC crosses paths with the party, they deserve art. I know commissioning art takes resources, but it makes a massive difference. You see this omission a lot in big official D&D adventures, but for my module, I am making a point to do it right. I want to give every NPC a token, even the random guards or the goons who might die in round one. Giving an NPC a face makes them feel real to the players, and more importantly, it makes the GM’s life so much easier.
Anyway, to close out this update: Affinity Publisher, I love you, but please make formatting text and building tables easier before I go mad and switch back to Microsoft Word. (And no, I won't use Google Docs because it's way too empty on features for what I need!).
More updates coming soonish I guess
